The SINDEX 2012 (Sabah Invention & Design Exhibition) Organizing Committee paid a courtesy call on the Minister of Science, Technology & Innovation Malaysia (MOSTI), Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus J. Ongkili on 3rd October to brief him on the program planned for the SINDEX 2012. Datuk Seri Dr. Maximus assured his full support to the project and witnessed the handing over of an RM 50,000 cheque as a contribution to the project from Shell Malaysia.

The purpose of the visit was to brief Datuk Seri Panglima on the Committee’s programme lined up for the SINDEX 2012 and at the same time, to invite him to its launching on 27th September 2011 in Tawau. Datuk Seri Panglima was very pleased with the programme for the SINDEX 2012, especially since the Committee has placed equal importance not only on inculcating creativity and innovation among students but also on the teachers through introducing the “Andragogy Methodology”, which is the art and science of helping adults learn.

The Sabah Invention & Design Exhibition (SINDEX 2012) was successfully launched on the 27th of Sep. 2011 by YB Datuk Hj Tawfiq Bin Datuk Hj Abu Bakar Titingan (Pembantu Menteri Kewangan) at SMK Kuhara in Tawau, Sabah, Malaysia. The launching started with a personal development speech delivered by the Chairman of SINDEX 2012 Training of Teachers and Motivators Dr. Ali Qassem to over 700 students from 20 schools in Tawau.

Overwhelming students’ participation in Sindex 2012
The Sabah Invention & Design Exhibition (Sindex) 2012 has received an overwhelming response from students in Sabah and the Federal Territory of Labuan. Organising Chairman Nicholas Fernandez said that Sindex 2012 is indeed one of the most successful Sindex to date judging from the number of entries received this year. He said this during the Sindex Interview Session for the West Coast Division held at the School of Engineering & Information Technology Hall in Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) Campus here yesterday.
